CartA signature jazz album in Russian. Released on the Butman Music label with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the album features eight diverse jazz compositions that evoke the beauty of the Russian land and the boundless breadth of the Russian soul. This album seamlessly blends the best musical traditions with a contemporary sound, where melodic lines and poetic lines meet virtuoso improvisations. This album is a family affair: the band's leaders are husband and wife, and the lyrics are written by Victoria's father, musician and poet Anatoly Kaunov, who captures the beauty and richness of his native land in his verses.
The album "Reflections" doesn't just sound; it breathes with the listener. The composers' memories of a carefree childhood, endless fields, and their first tours across our country—impressively vast and rich in forests and fields filled with the sounds of nature—helped to capture the beauty of Russian nature and the breadth of the Russian soul in their music. The attentive listener will hear the singing of night crickets, the whisper of the steppes, and the breath of the wind on the album. It features traditional swing, heartfelt ballads, candid lyrics, and more memorable jazz-rock compositions. The pieces feature variable and odd meters, reflecting the rhythm of modern life.
The music on the album both returns to its roots and looks to the future. "Reflections" is free of compromises and clichés—it's truly authentic Russian improvised music, unconstrained by any "format."
