CartThe debut album by the duo Evgenia Peters and Diana Vladimirova, "You Must Believe in Love," is being released on the Butman Music label. The duo quickly gained popularity thanks to their original Russian-language version of Antonio Carlos Jobim's bossa nova, "Aguas De Março," which has garnered over 200,000 views on social media. In addition to this piece, the album includes jazz standards and Soviet songs arranged by Evgenia Peters. The duo's mission is to show listeners how beautiful jazz can be and help them see the warmth and light in this music.
The album's epigraph is lines from its title track, Michel Legrand's ballad "You Must Believe in Spring," which speaks of the approach of spring and faith in a better future.
"Every detail of the album, be it a translation of a Portuguese song, paradoxical arrangements of beloved Soviet melodies, or unique and rarely performed jazz compositions, conveys a seemingly simple yet profoundly important truth: we must believe in a new spring. And in Love," the artists share.
