Ignat Kravtsov is one of the most extraordinary and important drummers in Russia. They all experiment with different styles of music. In January 2015, they have released an album called «Open Strings» on Igor Butman’s label with the participation of a string quartet, whereby the sound of the ensemble went far beyond the jazz mainstream. You can hear the Russian classical tradition, and elements of free jazz, musical sketches and shapes in the spirit of the French Impressionists. Nevertheless it is a modern jazz. As the musicians say: "We do not try to drive our music in the framework of a certain style, and just play what we want to listen." In April 2015 the album "Open Strings" entered the prestigious Europe Jazz Media Shart as one of the most interesting contemporary jazz records.
