On November 19, Eliza's Band's debut album "I Don't Care" was released on the Butman Music label. The band became the winner of the All-Russian jazz composers competition JAZZPROM. The competition was held by Gazprombank and the Igor Butman Foundation as part of the III Moscow Jazz Festival and the I Saint Petersburg Jazz Festival. The main prize of the competition was a performance at one of the Festivals, as well as the recording of an album.
Eliza's Band is a project of the Moscow saxophonist Elizaveta Yurgina. The band performs modern, stylish jazz, combining funk, blues, smooth jazz, Latin, tradition and bebop.
The release is an extraordinary, virtuosic "jazz of the new generation", where the energy of bebop, funk and Latin rhythms is combined with the melodiousness of blues and tradition in an instrumental and vocal reading. The album consists exclusively of original compositions inspired by such masters as: Dave Weckl, Phil Woods, Michael Brecker, Stan Getz, Marcus Miller, Candy Dulfer, Michel Camilo. The rich legacy of jazz history in the album is reincarnated in the work of the band, creating a kind of bridge between the past and the future.
