CartNew Path-2
Brilliant Russian-American jazz trumpet player, New York based Alex Sipiagin keeps following his path within the modern creative mainstream jazz idiom with the second album of New Path trilogy, recorded in Moscow with a bunch of great jazzmen from all over the world: pianist Misha Tsiganov, double Grammy winning bassist Boris Kozlov, drummer Donald Edwards and aspiring singer Hiske Oosterwijk. The album was included in March edition of European Media Chart by Cim Meyer from Jazz Special magazine (Denmark). New Path-3 is due to be released by the end of this year. One of the most important ideas of this project is to show a human's voice as an integral part of the musical group, but at the same time to designate the role of the singer not as a soloist, but as a person who uses his voice as an instrument. Especially when this person has a unique voice: Hiske Oosterwijk sings with strength and preciseness, but at the same time her voice could be lyrical and soft. Hiske studied academic music at Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen, but eventually switched to the jazz department. She's is a very versatile vocalist. She has already participated in several projects. For example, as a back vocalist on the tour of a famous musician Adedeji Adetayo. And now Hiske Oosterwijk works together with the great trumpeter Alex Sipiagin. In addition, the singer has her own band Eva (Evanegline), with whom she performs at various concerts and festivals.
